G39 Electrical Safety Training
Qualification: Leading First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 6
G39 Safety Training aims to provide employees with the knowledge required for work in the vicinity of DNO and IDNO equipment. This includes overhead power lines and the removal and replacement of DNO cut-out fuse carriers in a safe and responsible manner, and to comply with the responsibilities under organisation and legislative policies.
At ACT - Avery Cameron Training, we’re the only EUSR-accredited centre to provide G39 safety training. After completing the course, delegates will gain an EUSR card for their training.
The course content includes:
Statutory requirements
Planning of public lighting systems
Means of providing electricity supplies to public lighting installations and other street furniture
Erection of columns, lanterns, and other street furniture other than on DNO poles
Erection of lanterns or illuminated signs attached to DNO–owned low-voltage poles
Commissioning, maintenance, repair, and emergency attention
Avoidance of danger from accidental contact with live conductors during the erection, commissioning, and maintenance of public lighting and other street furniture
Competent/Skilled persons
Developments in electrical equipment, Annex A (normative) – clearances between columns and overhead lines
