National Water Hygiene & Scottish Water DOMS (Modules 1-12)
National Water Hygiene
Course Length: 1/2 Day
Course Requirements: This is an entry-level course.
National Water Hygiene (NWH) scheme, also known as a ‘Blue Card’, plays a vital part in ensuring the protection of public health and promoting good water hygiene practices. The scheme has been developed in collaboration with all UK water companies.
This course is also delivered as the first part of the National Water Hygiene & Scottish Water (DOMS) course.
The scheme comprises four modules: Module 1 (the importance of water), Module 2 (water as a carrier of disease), Module 3 (potential contamination and its consequences), and Module 4 (preventing contamination).
This scheme can be delivered face-to-face, online and through e-learning. All NWH training is assessed through a multiple-choice question test containing 25 questions.

Scottish Water DOMS (Modules 1-12)
Course Length: 1/2 Day
Course Requirements: To complete Scottish Water DOMS (Modules 1-12), you must hold a valid National Water Hygiene qualification.
Scottish Water DOMS (Modules 1-12) covers working within the National Water Hygiene (NWH) industry, including service reservoirs, pumping stations, water mains and service pipes. Scottish Water’s Distribution Operations Maintenance Strategy (DOMS) scheme is a Bespoke Programme owned by Scottish Water for individuals working on Scottish Water sites; registrations for the scheme are held on EUSR.
This course involves the following twelve modules: Hygiene Practices, Hygiene Sampling Procedures, Hygiene Tools & Equipment, Disinfection Procedures, Repair and Maintenance Procedures, DOMS Boundary Valve Management, DOMS Treated Water Storage Points Maintenance), DOMS Repair of Mains & Services, Secondary Disinfection Treated Water Storage Points), DOMS Pumping Station Failures - Electrical/Mechanical, DOMS General Maintenance Activities, DOMS Network Operability.

Scottish Water (DOMS) - Module 13 - Advanced Practitioner
Course Length: 1 Day
Course Requirements: Candidates must have valid National Water Hygiene and Scottish Water DOMS Modules 1 - 12 registrations to be able to attend the advanced sampling practitioner course.
The Scottish Water Distribution Operations & Maintenance Strategy (DOMS) - Module 13 - Advanced Sampling training course is a company scheme, created and owned by Scottish Water, relevant for anyone taking potable water samples on the live water distribution network, from new water mains, new water service connections and sampling associated with water commissioning.
The Scottish Water DOMS Module 13 sampling scheme has been produced to ensure that Scottish Water, Contractors and Consultants staff who are required to take water samples follow a systematic and standardised approach covering key principles associated with the use, selection and use of the correct sample bottles, how to measure chlorine residuals accurately, how to sample correctly using the correct techniques and filling bottles in the correct order, and complete the appropriate paperwork for submission to the laboratories to minimise the potential of erroneous (incorrect) sample results.

National Water Hygiene & Scottish Water DOMS (Modules 1-12)
Course Length: 1 Day
Course Requirements: No Course Requirements.
This combination course combined the National Water Hygiene course and Scottish Water Doms (Modules 1-12) into a single, 1 Day course.
Session One involves the following four modules: Module 1 (the importance of water), Module 2 (water as a carrier of disease), Module 3 (potential contamination and its consequences), and Module 4 (preventing contamination).
Session Two involves the following twelve modules: Hygiene Practices, Hygiene Sampling Procedures, Hygiene Tools & Equipment, Disinfection Procedures, Repair and Maintenance Procedures, DOMS Boundary Valve Management, DOMS Treated Water Storage Points Maintenance), DOMS Repair of Mains & Services, Secondary Disinfection Treated Water Storage Points), DOMS Pumping Station Failures - Electrical/Mechanical, DOMS General Maintenance Activities, DOMS Network Operability.
