The EUSR National Water Hygiene (NWH) course is also known as the Blue Card scheme. It plays an important role in protecting public health and promoting good water hygiene practices across the UK water industry.

The scheme was developed in collaboration with UK water companies and is suitable for anyone who works on clean water sites or comes into contact with the public water supply.

This course is also delivered as the first part of the National Water Hygiene and Scottish Water DOMS training course.

ACT delivers National Water Hygiene training from our Dingwall training centre and at customer locations across the Highlands, Inverness, Aberdeen, Fort William and throughout Scotland.

Modules

This scheme comprises the following modules:

  • Module 1: The importance of water

  • Module 2: Water as a carrier of disease

  • Module 3: Potential contamination and its consequences

  • Module 4: Preventing contamination

Delivery Model

This scheme can be delivered using any of the three following models:

  • 2023 NWH (Face-to -face) training 

  • 2023 NWH (Remote / e-Classroom) training

  • 2023 NWH (e-Learning / e-Assessment) programme

Assessment

All NWH training is assessed through a multiple-choice question test containing 25 questions.
