This EUSR Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Water course is a one-day programme for people working on or requiring access to operational sites within the water industry.

The course introduces key health, safety and environmental responsibilities. It is suitable for operatives, supervisors and managers in both permanent and temporary roles.

SHEA Water is part of the CSCS Alliance scheme and supports recognised safety requirements across the water industry.

The SHEA Water scheme takes a modular approach. There are eight modules with six modules designated as ‘core’ modules, which are pertinent for all utility sectors. Two modules provide the water industry specific content.

  • Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities

  • Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment

  • Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks

  • Module 4: Common hazards in the workplace

  • Module 5: Occupational health hazards

  • Module 6: Responding to emergencies

  • Module 7: Sewerage network and process operations (Scheme specific module)

  • Module 8: Highway working and excavations (Scheme specific module)

Candidates must complete all eight modules and pass the SHEA Water assessment and gain EUSR SHEA Water registration.
