CAT & Genny Training: What’s Involved And How Long Is The Course?

Our CITB-approved CAT & Genny course provides candidates with knowledge on the detection of buried utilities for construction using electromagnetic location (EML training). Below, we’ll list what to expect from our CAT & Genny course and how long it takes.

CAT & Genny Training

Cat & Genny is a half-day course, which is theory and practical-based. At our Dingwall training centre, we can hold up to a maximum of 12 delegates per course.

Course contents:

  • HSG47 requirements in accordance with using EML equipment

  • Safe working practices to include relevant or generic permits and specific client-based risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS)

  • EML Theory and Limitations

  • Product inspections and pre-work tests as recommended by the manufacturer

  • Equipment operation and application methods

  • Signal transmitter application techniques

  • Accessories and applications

  • Data logging properties and benefits
